The Hobonichi Techo Ryoji Arai “The Donkey Says, I’m Always Here to Listen” Small Drawer Pouch is a compact organizer designed to keep stationery and everyday essentials neatly together. It works like a tidy drawer that you can carry with you, making it easy to keep your favorite and important items organized wherever you go.

The artwork was created by picture book artist Ryoji Arai. Originally designed for a Hobonichi Techo 2014 cover, the artwork has been brought to life again as a Small Drawer Pouch.

Against a soft light-blue background stands an orange donkey with a gentle expression. True to its warm and inviting name, the donkey feels like a friendly companion that is always ready to listen. The back features a playful collage-style design combining crayon and colored-pencil artwork with landscape photographs and pieces resembling torn notebook paper.

The zipper and interior are finished in vivid pink, while the zipper pull is yellow, creating a cheerful and colorful contrast.

When the zipper is opened, the pouch lays flat, allowing you to see the contents at a glance and quickly find what you need. Three slim pockets on the left are ideal for cards, business cards, rulers, scissors, and other flat items.

The right side features a mesh pocket for pens, masking tape, charging cables, and other bulkier accessories. An elastic band helps keep pens securely in place. A deep exterior pocket is convenient for frequently accessed items such as pencils and tickets.

Despite its useful storage capacity, the pouch has a slim profile with a narrow gusset, allowing it to fit neatly inside a bag. The loop-shaped zipper pull makes it comfortable to hold and easy to open.
